The Florida Senate has approved a House Bill that will extend the back to school sales tax holiday from the usual three days to ten days this year. That means seven more days of tax free shopping on clothing, school supplies, personal computers and much more! The 2015 sales tax holiday will run from August 7th through August 16th. Sales tax will not be collected on purchases of:
- Clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $100 or less per item
- School supplies selling for $15 or less per item
- Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories on the first $750 of the sales price.
Take this time to inventory your home/work office and your wardrobe. Do you need some new work shirts or a new wallet? Now is the time to buy! You can certainly use this week to save for the entire family or donate to someone that is less fortunate. There are a number of organizations that will be taking school supplies through August. Check out your local news outlet for school supply drives in your area.
